Tenbury Wells business owner scoops multiple industry awards
Steve Smith Construction has been named the most Heavenly Builder in the Midlands region as part of the Federation of Master Builders’ (FMB) Master Builder Awards 2017.
The Heavenly Builder category is one in which the winner really epitomises what the awards are all about as it looks for evidence of professionalism, courtesy and exceptional customer service. Steve Smith, was awarded the Heavenly Builder title for his ‘can-do’ and ‘nothing is a problem’ attitude.
Steve, saw off some tough competition to claim the regional awards and he is now in with a chance of winning the national category title at the Master Builder Awards held at the Intercontinental Park Lane Hotel in London on 15th September 2017. The event will be hosted by TV presenter and building enthusiast Nick Knowles.
Impressing the judges even further, Steve Smith Construction also secured the award for best Small Renovation project for a remarkable renovation of a family home.
The project involved knocking out the whole of the back of the house at ground floor level, adding two new extensions and making sure the build was strong enough to take a large first floor balcony complete with glass balustrade.
Challenges included the stability of the house, the construction of blending old with new and enabling the clients to continue living at the property and running their business from home while the build took place. Steve’s knowledge, commitment and attention to detail overcame all of the challenges, as he found solutions and suggested ideas on how to achieve the client’s vision.
Now in its 13th year, the Master Builder Awards continues to be a flagship for high-quality building work. Organised by the FMB, the awards programme is unique in that any project entered by the builder must be backed up by the customer – giving home owners the opportunity to support those building companies that have delivered exceptional results.
John Watson, FMB Central Director, said: “The Heavenly Builder award gives clients the opportunity to thank their builder for going above and beyond the call of duty to complete the job and turn a potentially stressful experience into an enjoyable one.
“Time and time again we have been impressed with just how far these builders will go to ensure their client is happy. It is this dedication that we want to celebrate. Steve Smith Construction should feel justly proud of this achievement in winning these prestigious awards, and we wish them every success in the national competition.”
If Steve Smith Construction wins the overall Master Builder Awards title, selected from all category winners, the company will receive a brand new Vauxhall Light Commercial Vehicle worth up to £20,000. The clients will also receive a cheque for £1,000.
